KotOR2 had no business just reusing the same engine with no upgrade; by the time it released those graphics were FAR from acceptable. the story felt unoriginal. the gameplay tweaks were welcome but too little, too late. obsidian really disappointed and while I haven't played much else from them since, the critics have let us know they remain mediocre.
I'll be waiting for some reviews rather than get New Vegas day 1. thanks kaveti for reminding me who's worki...
"the combat didn't suck, the leveling system did"
I too hope the leveling is improved. doesn't have to be just like fallout3 but please bethesda, fix this.
actually I would say only the non-spell combat didn't suck. spells were pretty lame IMO (except lightning). hate to say it but learn from 2K Boston, bethesda.
I did not enjoy the demo. I'd rather have an xbla port of that sonic rpg they released on the DS, that looked cool and the critics approved... :(
what really ruined it for me: I couldn't find a way to easily resheath my weapons, WTF?! walking with your weapon out is superslow. the only way I could find to put them away was to either search any body/chest, or go into the menu and unequip entirely (then go BACK in and re-equip)!!
me too on the 360 demo and yes parts were great, better than oblivion! unfortunately, some issues will prevent my considering a purchase. looking at the graphics shows how some really great stuff gets pretty well destroyed by some awful bits.
graphics - EXCELLENT:
outdoor environments!*
my equipment trappings displayed in realtime
graphics - POOR to REALLY BAD:
indoor environments (multiple ugly, generic caves to wander thru)
...
lol!
idk I'd think Guinness would check for authenticity.
as for unlock dates, no date is recorded if the achievement is earned while not connected to xbl (although of course that wouldn't work for online multiplayer-based achievements).
thanks for the vid link.
but if they're going to bother trying to take it to the next lvl of virtual s3x... shouldn't the on-screen image be more point-of-view-ish, and not a side shot?
is there a difference? j/k :)
no you might be right about bein rich$. besides the cost of the games themselves, there's also the time consideration. I doubt a working man could get their gamerscore that high...
"Doll catcher achievement is a pain in the ass"
someone must be a pokeaddict or something to have created that lame-o achievement. and there's also 50 more pts I'll never get that require buying Pub Games in arcade. come on molyneux, don't F with my completionist whoring tendencies!
and I see you also read the article. /s
nice to see you read the article. /s
"Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 stomps a mudhole in Bayonetta's clown-ass story"
LMFAO are you ret@rded?? both are sh1t as far as story.
if you want a story that isn't a bunch of ridiculousness strung together as an excuse for some gameplay try, say, mass effect...
"@Cloudberry.......No...S ales does NOT equal quality...otherwise McDonalds has the best food.
And Britney Spears is the greatest singer."
BRAVO well said bubs+!!
I agree that spong.com are being misleading for hits, shame on them.
of course they are but good design trumps pure technical, graphical power. how you arrange the parts makes more of a difference than straight # of polygons.
this l0ser is so over-the-top it makes me wonder if it's actually a PS3 fan in disguise trying to make 360 fans look bad...
tried the demo and agree about the music being < great (although I do like the intentional synth).
didn't dig the demo very much overall.
"There's no reason games can't embrace action AND everything else."
actually I was just wondering a min. ago whether games couldn't do documentaries like in film (by definition I think that's a no)? regardless I still agree with your underlying point - that games can be artistic and/or educational just like the other media.
of course even without the mom-approved art/edu values being intrinsic to gaming, you could make the argum...
"Now, Sony are trying to patch this up by releasing PS2 HD Collections"
no they're not, they're trying to make more $. there are certainly benefits to be had with a shiny new HD release (check my comment history); but call a spade a spade...
